Educated at Central St. Martins in London, Syracuse University (BFA) and Parsons in New York, Michele Wesen Bryant has been working as a fashion artist/designer for over 30 years. Her editorial illustrations have appeared in Vogue, Seventeen, YM, Modern Bride, Ladies Home Journal and La Familia De Hoy. Working directly for the trade she has created style forecasts and fashion presentations for Revlon, Cotton Inc., The Wool Bureau, The Men’s Fashion Association and Federated Stores.  Her work has been featured in the Best of American Fashion Illustration Show at the Society of Illustrators.

Michele’s in-depth observation of fashion has facilitated a variety of career transitions. She has designed functional apparel and outerwear for Spiewak, the Protective Clothing Company and the US Army. She honed her digital skills working for Marcus Klinko and Indrani. Michele began teaching concepts, digital and fashion drawing courses at FIT in 1994 and at Parsons in 1997.  She has also been visiting Professor at Istanbul Technical University, ZSTU (China) and Polimoda (Italy).

In addition to her work as a fashion artist, educator and designer, Michele’s greeting card design for the Museum of Modern Art was a best-seller and had a prominent position in trade and consumer campaigns. Her branded surface designs have appeared on licensed products by United Media (Peanuts), Nick and Nora/Mattel collab (Barbie), and Wow Meow for Barneys.

Michele is the author of Fashion Drawing: Illustration Techniques for Fashion Designers (Laurence King LTD with Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Turkish and Chinese editions), WWD Illustrated: 1960s - 90s (Fairchild Books), and The Spec Manual (Fairchild Books). She was a consulting curator for Adrian’s Camelot, an exhibition of the designer’s costume sketches at The Museum of the City of New York. She has also illustrated a physical therapy and injury prevention manual for dancers at ABT.
